Support

When you contact us for help, we will assign you a support person to manage your case. Before anything else happens, your support person will take the time to listen to your story and to pray with you. This may be a phone call, a video chat, or simply an email exchange, whatever your preference.

Your support person will then help you decide what type of ongoing support you need. This may include things like legal advice, mediation support, specifically targeted advocacy within your organisation, or referrals to external services (such as counselling). Your support person may walk with you for a short time or over a period of many months. The goal is to make sure you always have someone you can connect with, who understands the challenges you are facing, and who can provide wise and godly counsel depending on the variables in your situation.

When you no longer require the services of a support person, we will 'close' your case with us, but you are still always welcome to return to us for help at any time. One of our goals is to pursue healing and restoration for all victims of abuse, even in situations where earthly justice may not be achievable. Your support person will work with you as you walk this path and will also commit to prayerful intercession on your behalf.

All of our support people have signed confidentiality agreements so you can be sure that the specifics of your case will be known only to the Uphold committee as we serve you. No details of your case will be passed on to a third party without your express consent.

If you would like some support from the Uphold team, please fill out our contact form using the link below.
